Admissions Policy

Introduction
upGrad School of Technology (“uGSOT”) facilitates the screening and selection of learners seeking admission into degree programs offered by recognized Indian universities.
uGSOT:
- does not award degrees
- does not collect academic or tuition fees
- does not participate in the university’s academic, statutory, or financial governance
All academic decisions including shortlisting, admission, fee collection, and refunds are taken exclusively by the respective university.
Application Fee Policy
2.1 Application Fee Amount
The Application Fee payable to uGSOT is INR 1000 (One Thousand Rupees only).This is the only fee charged by uGSOT for screening purposes. uGSOT does not charge any additional fee, commission, deposit, or payment of any nature for admission facilitation.
Any person or entity requesting payment on behalf of uGSOT for admission is unauthorised. uGSOT bears no responsibility for any loss, fraud, or misuse arising from dealings with such persons. uGSOT will never request banking details, OTPs, passwords, UPI PINs, or similar information.
2.2 Non-Refundable Fee
The Application Fee is strictly non-refundable, regardless of the stage of withdrawal or discontinuation.
2.3 Purpose of the Fee
The Application Fee covers uGSOT’s administrative efforts, including:
- Application handling and verification
- Aptitude and profile evaluation
- Interviews
- Communication and documentation support
Screening begins immediately upon payment; the fee therefore remains non-refundable.
2.4 No Guarantee of Admission
Payment of the Application Fee does not guarantee selection or admission. Admission decisions rest solely with the university.
Screening & Shortlisting Policy
3.1 Screening Conducted by uGSOT
Screening may include:
- Application review
- Aptitude assessments
- Interviews
- Profile evaluation
3.2 Shortlisting
Upon clearance, uGSOT forwards the learner’s dossier to the partner university. Thereafter, all decisions (offer issuance, seat allocation, fee collection) are governed exclusively by university rules.
3.3 No Modification of University Criteria
uGSOT does not influence or alter the university’s admission criteria under any circumstance.
Deferral Policy (Screening Reschedule)
4.1 Eligibility
A learner may request a deferral only before:
- Completing the screening process, and
- Their profile being forwarded to the university.
4.2 One-Time Deferral
A single deferral to the next immediate admission cycle is permitted at no extra cost.
4.3 Fee Validity
The previously paid Application Fee remains valid for the one deferral. No additional Application Fee is required.
4.4 After University Evaluation
Once the university has begun evaluation or issued an offer, deferrals are governed solely by the university. uGSOT cannot facilitate deferrals at this stage.
Cancellation Policy
5.1 Before Screening
Learners may withdraw their application at any time; however, the Application Fee remains non-refundable.
5.2 After Screening or Shortlisting
If screening has been completed or the profile has been forwarded to the university, the learner may still withdraw, but:
- The Application Fee remains non-refundable
- Any Program / Tuition Fee refund (if the learner has paid the university) will be governed strictly by the university’s policies
Refund Policy
6.1 Application Fee Refund
The Application Fee paid to uGSOT is non-refundable under all circumstances.
6.2 Program / Tuition Fee Refund
uGSOT does not collect tuition or academic fees. All academic fee payments are made directly to the university, and any refunds shall be governed solely by:
- The university’s refund policy
- Applicable UGC Refund Guidelines
6.3 University’s Final Authority
The university has exclusive authority over admissions, cancellations, refunds, withdrawals, seat deferrals, and academic timelines. uGSOT does not intervene in these decisions.
Amendments
uGSOT reserves the right to modify, update, or revise this Policy Framework at any time. Updated versions will be published on the official uGSOT website and shall take effect immediately upon publication.
